Mikimoto Pearl Island Co., Ltd.
On the island, you can learn everything there is to know about pearls. Starting with the Pearl Museum, you can visit the Mikimoto Kōkichi Memorial Museum, which introduces the life of Mikimoto Kōkichi, known as the Pearl King, and watch diving demonstrations by traditional female divers dressed in white seaweed-colored outfits.
The Pearl Museum exhibits a wide range of documents and videos on how pearls are made and how they are cultivated. You can also see a comprehensive collection of antique jewelry made with natural pearls, as well as a number of luxurious art and craft items that make generous use of cultured pearls.
