Ise Katagami Cooperative Association
Ise Katagami are stencils used to dye patterns onto kimono fabric. They are said to have a history of over 1,000 years. Today, Ise Katagami are used not only as dyeing tools, but also in a variety of ways, such as interior decoration and design. The Suzuka City Traditional Industries Museum introduces the manufacturing process of Ise Katagami and displays and sells products. Visitors can also try their hand at carving and dyeing.
